My vote is let everything go to roll. If you roll by accident it can be fixed by petitions. Raid more and roll more. Have a few exceptions fir raid critical things like first BOC goes to MT. Take the whoke DKP and loot issue out of the equation. Shake this rat off your shokder

I like most of it but see an issue with the 1dkp thing.  There are cases where members are within 5 points of each other and not being able to bid by one denies the highest dkp holder the item if the other person puts in the 5 factor bid before him, maybe we add the exception to allow for you to go All In with all your dkp to remedy that?
100 minimum seems high. I would set it as what we typically earn in a single raid. 40 dkp, no one can really complaining thats too low or too high.
Raid box makes sense to me. Hoolio is not much help as far as boxes go and i only bringing him along cause i hate to see rots. So i dont give a shit what penalties he faces and i clearly accept other more important boxes should be in a different category than him.
That said, its a slippery slope to hinder people's alt progression as you try to balance it against main who hate other people playing alts.

I am going to take a more contrary position, not because i have a strong conviction otherwise, but rather to illuminate the alternatives. First off, if leadership needs a break, take it, you more than earned it. Second, everyone needs to realize you will never have 100 people on the same page, same schedule, same drives, and same needs in the game. The key to success is adaptability and flexibility in VERY LARGE measures.
This guild is awesome. But it is also the most alt unfriendly guild i have been in and we have lost people because of it.  But you have to realize we would probably lose the same amount of people if we treated alts as regular members. So this is a good example. Want to change anything? Expect to lose some folks and gain some as a result. That is the way it goes.
But as for attendance, its low for several tangible reasons.   Velious will turn it around. Just dont be hard on leadership or you might find vancantcies you dont want to fill

I just want to add one more point to put this whole topic into perspective then i will leave it alone.  The leadership has gone above and beyond to be fair to everyone while at the same time making the hard choice that are required to succeed. It is this leadership that allows us to debate over loot we would not have without it.
Whatever they go with has my 100% support regardless how it affects me individually.

The game constantly changes
Your class constantly changes
Your skill and playstyle constantly changes
Your gear constantly changes
Your raid composition constantly changes
Therefore, your loot policies must constantly change.

This is the way i see it. I feel loot should go to who can leverage it the best, so i am unconcerned with loot restrictions in general. But the reality is people should be allowed to pursue loot as they see fit or they will move on to some place that they can achieve their goal. Is any given piece of loot worth losing a member over? Who cares if a caster gets a cloak of flames when we are getting a few a week and will be replaced next expansion? Who cares if a caster beat a melee and spends 300 dkp on the cloak, the melee gets the next one for less!
And what happens when most are 60 and geared? Do you want to raid on our crop of lvl 46 alts? Or you want to raid with our mains and let them twink alts with unused DKP?

The problem i have found with rune rotations is usually running oom way too early in a fight. In the past, a chanter core i was in ended up doing a hydrid situation where 3 chanter would be in a slow rotation while 2 other chanters filled in more runes by feel of the fight. With the two feelers paying attention to the MT more than a chat window

And just to clarify my original post about selling items obtained on a raid the official guild rule is you cant sell any item drop from the current expansion mob until the next expansion.

For those who do not know, this has been dubbed the “Burnberry Rule” named after our very own Burnberry whose EC Tunnel Exploits and  Fine Art of Auction-craft are renowned throughout Norrath.

Concerning alts, can we box an alt on raid to loot rots? Or is it preferred to play either/or?  I have generally not brought a cleric box cause I personally feel boxing on a raid is similar to double dipping dkp. now if a class is needed and a player is a good boxer, then more power to ya, but i am not so good a boxer that my cleric can be in the heal rotation but could offer SOME healing to a grp. So i have avoided raid boxing for that reasoning alone. But now with stuff starting to rot, i thought i would get an updated opinion from leadership.

Yeah i guess that makes sense. Nothing would be worse than logging in to raid and be told the raid is full. My comments are driven from curiosity rather than a desired to change anything. Things are going well for us!

All good news to me. As much as i want to go live in sebilis once kunark drops, i think i am going to focus on helping clerics farm shards. Clicky sticks will be an even bigger impact on raid downtime than other gear and levels.

That is only 12 open positions. We are averaging half capacity on raids. Are we holding raider spots for people who may be grandfathered in as a raider but not attending many raids?

I am curious how Kunark targets will fit into our raid schedule. Obviously, as we gear up, our current targets are going down faster and faster, eventually giving us time for more targets. But i am wondering what the main plan is? Like are we going to add a raid day or just pick the best targets we can hit in our current schedule? How are we going to incorporate epic fights? Obviously chardok runs will be a priority for cleric click sticks so will that be done during raid times or Fend For Yourself runs

There is also a third open world bottleneck, vessel drozlin in cabalis.
All three are on 3 day timer with a +- variance of several hours.

As someone who has completed this epic recently on Agnarr, here is my advice.

Even if you have decided to wait til several expansion to do the epic once the rush has died down and the bottlenecks are not poopsocked, there is a lot you can do to casually collect stuff. At a minimum, do the pre quests so you can get the combine sacks from the quest givers.

Next, go ahead and get the 4 dull gems from the Fiona Vie npc and keep them on your person, you never know when you will have the opportunity to get these charm turn ins done.

Show up for every guild trip to Royals in chardok when we go to get clerics their drops there. Be sure to speak up that you need the prince while we are there.

Save the rest for when you have an hour before raid and looking fir something to do.

Most Importantly DO NOT GET DISCOURAGED when you see how utterly impossible it seems to get a single bottleneck yet alone all three. It WILL HAPPEN. I had all but given up, then got all three bottlenecks  in one week. I did wait til the rush had passed a bit.

I thought i would create a thread where members can ask questions about the guild bank outside if item request.

I will start with a question.  Does the guild need Krono? I would think having some to barter with would be benefit if something the guild needs comes up for sale. Which brings me to a question of members buying things from the guild bank for Krono. What is the thought on that? On one hand i can see sone people might not like the idea of people buying drops for real cash. But on the other hand, if the guild is effectively swapping an item for krono, the bank is still retaining the same amount of worth and converting what is unclaimed into something it can use. Its an interesting topic.

Two yellows from 46 so expecting to be raid ready by the weekend thanks to some really cool Swedes.
I know bidding under this system can take some time when people are raising bids one point at a time. I have seen that happen a few times when a new dkp system is setup. But trust me, everyone WILL TIRE of trying to mirco manage their DKP to the single point and they will soon bid more confident with higher amounts.
My personal position is I enjoy savoring the drop. If its awarded in under 15 seconds and off to the next fight, that is all well and good but you miss out on the suspense of a lengthy bid process that can be an enjoyable experience in its own.
The only sticky part is the super rare and important drops.  By definition these are rare occasion that are handled outside the dkp system. Seems a guild will lose at least one member per occasion due to that member being unable to place the logic of guild progression above his or her own ideology of “loot fairness”.  But as a gamer of many mmos, including this one’s initial launch, every guild who does not appropriately handles the super rare loot this way, those guilds fail. And the gear goes to people who never realize guild progression.
