Fucking Retarded.
Congratulations to those who left. I am sure your new guild will be just as miserable as you were.
This does not seem helpful to me, on a couple levels.

Thank you for posting Burta.
As a newer member, it is hard for me to have an accurate a feel for how things are going down. I have not gotten a chance to get to know the leadership all that well before this came up. I grouped with Burnberry, Bigma, Armor, Nessy, Vashazir and others a couple times but that was not enough to get to know them all that well, I still felt like the new guy. I have a group of friends on the server outside the guild that I group with some so part of that is my fault I'm sure. Then some of those guild people stopped showing up to most of the raids or even stopped logging in at all. The guild housekeeping was being done in a way that was unfamiliar to me which made me a little concerned, but I liked a lot of the members so I pressed on. I assumed at least part of the attendance issues were due to the fact that the content was getting stale, but I am not used to seeing members of leadership just ghost for a week or more. Then I started getting the feeling there was resentment among the members centered around who was getting what loot which is a big red flag for me. My history is with family style raiding guilds where we went out of our way to help other members without expecting anything in return. Sadly I see less and less of that in game these days. The family feel does show up in several of our members, which is what kept me coming back. I am unsure of my path forward currently but do hope it includes many of the new friends I have made in this guild. Whatever happens, please do not hesitate to call on me any time, I will help if I can.

#1 - No*
#2 - No
#3 - No?
On #1 - I am not against having a raid box category that elevates selected boxes above other boxes in bidding but never above any main, be that main a raider or a member. There would need to be a designation in the guild window of raid box status before the start of that days raiding imo.
On #3 - not entirely clear to me what this suggests except that it mentions a min dkp bid hence my no vote. With the current ranks in place, I favor a loot priority system of Raider > Member > Open Bid. Were we to add a rank of raid box this would change to Raider > Member > Raid Box > Open Bid.
I changed Alt/Box to Open Bid to suggest that it would be a phase in the bidding to allow Mains on the raid to bid on items that would be used to equip other toons they play that might not be on the raid, or help fund other wanted gear upgrades or tradeskill projects.
I can tolerate almost any rule set as long as it is firmly in place and known by all who seek the info. I understand there may be unforeseen events that may have to be ruled on in the moment but hopefully those occurrences are few and far between. The people we have are what makes the guild, not details of the loot system.
Guild Suggestions and Discussion » Proposed Changes to Alts/Boxes DKP & Bidding » 8/08/2019 8:12 am |
I have no issue with there being a raid box category that allows them to be geared before other boxes and alts however, I do not agree with an alt or box getting loot preference over a full main in any situation. My preferred loot chain would be as follows : Main > Raid Box > Alt/Box. To me the idea of calling a category greed is not helpful. I do think that people should be able to spend their points how they choose and while I would never bid against another player with the intent of selling that item for PP, I understand it is a fact of life in the game today.
I get the reasoning behind having a distinction between raiders and regular members and while I do think it is a way to protect people that have put in the time to become a raider, I feel that any loot "lost" to a member that might not stick with the guild long term over a raider is not enough to have the rule in place. My instinct is to trust the newer player and do everything possible to encourage long term membership even if it means getting burned a little here and there. I prefer to use the recruit tag for a set period of time or until a certain amount of dkp is earned, then you are a member, equal to other members in bidding.
I am not sure how I feel about the minimum bid issue, my first reaction is that it is too high but as we award more points per kill than any system I have been a part of, this issue is hard for me to gauge. I feel like maybe a starting bid of 10 might be more appropriate.
One option might be to charge a "box fee" to any alt or box that is not designated a raid box to help those boxes that perform core functions on raids to acquire loot more quickly. I have seen boxes charged the bid x2 dkp in some guilds, the raid boxes could be exempt from that.
I trust that the guild leadership has the best interest of the guild in mind while crafting the loot rules and am grateful that members are allowed input on the decision.
