Guild Charter

1. Guild Description. Heroes of Swords and Boards (herein referred to as HSB, or guild) is an Everquest player guild on the
Mangler server. HSB is a casual-progression guild, with 3 to 4 non-mandatory raids planned per week.
2. Membership Requirements. There is no formal application process, and there are no level requirements to join HSB.
Any player in the guild can invite other players into the guild.
3. Player Characters. Each player with more than one player character (PC) in the guild, must designate one as their main
PC. If a player only has one PC in HSB, that is their main PC. A player can change their main PC designation once per
game expansion.
4. Player Ranks. Each PC in HSB is tagged with one of the following ranks:
a. Recruit. This is the default rank when a PC joins HSB. A guild officer will promote the PC to Member or Alt
within a few days. If the tag is not changed, the player should contact an officer.
b. Member. This rank includes main PCs that are unable to raid current content due to their level, and main PCs
that are a high enough level to raid current content, but do not meet the requirements for Raider.
c. Raider.
i. New Members and longer established Members are promoted to Raider after achieving 50% raid
attendance for 2 consecutive weeks. The waiting period may be waived when there is a great demand for a
specific class.
ii. If a Raider does not attend 50% of raids for 2 consecutive weeks, their rank may be changed to Member
until they again meet the requirement for Raider.
iii. Raiders are required to register on the guild’s voice channel.
d. Alt. This rank includes alternate PCs on a on a player’s main PC account and all PCs on that player’s additional
(box) accounts.
5. Officer Ranks.
a. These ranks include Guild Leader, Co-Leaders, Senior Officers, and Officers.
b. Promotions to officer ranks will be approved by a 2/3 majority vote of the Guild-Leader, Co-Leaders and Senior
Officers.
c. Officer roles may be further detailed on the guild’s web board.
6. Rank Priority. Raiders have top priority followed by Member, then Alt. Officers are considered as Raiders for loot
rights and raid inclusion. Officer Alts are considered Alts.
7. Raids.
a. Schedule. 3 to 4 raids are planned per week with weekly schedules posted in advance. Raid duration varies
depending on the number of targets and the difficulty of the encounter(s).
b. Attendance. Raid attendance is not mandatory for Members, but there is a 50% monthly average attendance
requirement for Raiders.
c. Raid Size. A raid group can include 72 PCs maximum. When attendance exceeds that, raid leaders will
determine the class composition of the raid. As much as possible, preference will be given according to rank
priority (see Section 6).
d. Voice Channel. Players in attendance at a raid are required to join the guild’s designated voice channel to listen
to direction from raid leaders. The player is not required to speak, only to listen.
8. AFK Players. Players must notify the raid when they need to go AFK outside of raid downtime. The raid leader reserves
the right to remove players from the raid for lack of notice and for extended periods AFK. The player can rejoin the raid
when they are able to participate without interruption if the raid is not at max capacity.
9. DKP Earnings.
a. Members, Raiders and Alts earn DKP at the same rate per raid encounter as follows:
 10 points for being present when the raid is formed,
 10 points for being present for each raid hour clocked,
 10 points for being present when the raid is called,
 10 points for the first kill by the guild of a raid boss mob.
b. DKP is applied to the PC that is played, whether, Raider, Member or Alt.
c. DKP cannot be transferred from one PC to another.
d. DKP bonuses may be offered to players for other raid and non-raid accomplishments at the Guild Leader’s
discretion. These bonuses may be advertised on the guild’s web board.
10. DKP Bids and Loot Rules.
a. The minimum bid for raid loot is 1 DKP.
b. Bid increments are 1 DKP.
c. Only classes that can use an item can bid on it.
d. Certain items will be limited to classes that can equip the item for the best benefit of the guild. A list of these
items is posted on the guild’s web board.
e. Bids are accepted from PCs according to rank priority (See Section 6).
f. If there are no bids on a droppable item, raid leaders may loot the item for the guild bank.
g. Items that are not bid on, or not looted by the guild bank, may be offered to all present for random roll.
h. Rare drop and final quest parts are DKP biddable. Common drop quest parts may be looted by guild officers to
distribute or multi-quest for quest completion.
i. Plat items and plat are looted by an officer to be used for raid/guild associated costs.
j. The contents of the guild vault are posted on the guild’s web board.
11. Epics. The guild assists its players with epic quests when a raid force is required. This may be part of an official raid, or a
guild-sponsored after-raid event. If more than one player needs the quest item, rank priority is applied (see Section 6),
then random roll is used to determine who loots the item. DKP is not earned for epic questing outside of an official raid.
12. Grievances. Players should resolve grievances among themselves but may consult an officer if required.
13. Roster Purges. The Guild Leader may delete from the guild roster any PC that is inactive for longer than 2 months, and
any Alts that do not state the main PC name in the public note on the roster. Roster purges occur 2 weeks after an
expansion release.
14. Guild Charter.
a. This charter is a simple rule set and a framework for fair play.
b. Guild members are expected to become familiar with the charter and abide by its rules.
c. Rule changes polarize players and damage the guild, regardless of any other perceived benefit. Any changes to
the charter must be approved by a 2/3 majority vote of the Guild Leader, Co-Leaders and Senior Officers. These
leaders and officers must be active in the game and the guild to be eligible to vote.

Re: Guild Charter

Hey sorry no one responded with any help but I just read this post and I really appreciate you listing everything here. I'm pretty sure companions can heal as long as it's not from a hero doing the healing. So just from event cards and the book of secrets. All I see in the book is that on p.28 it says at the bottom of the list on companions "It cannot be healed by heroes". Nothing states that other non-hero-caused healing effects wouldn't work.

Re: Guild Charter

Have been playing Pokemon White; getting back into the series with a vengance after a long absence and getting into the TCG online for the first time. If you have Pokemon white or black you should add me, dude.
