Before we knee jerk react and decide we shouldn't be raiding Fear, Hate, or Sky, please realize that we still have members needing epic drops from those zones, and there are some items unique to Sky that will be useful forever like the shaman's feign death ring and the ranger's clickable haste cloak.
If our entire raid force does show up, we would blow through this content fast making it less painful for all, but trying to clear Fear and Hate with under 30 something players is not nearly as efficient.
Now, if these raids can be done pug style with lower numbers easily enough like Kedge Keep and getting ourselves locked to a DZ outside of an official raid isn't going to be a problem, we may want to consider removing the raid from our hit list.
Perhaps we need just to recruit more players, so we have more than enough to allow for people who don’t show up in each class the way the cleric team is stacked (kudos Airmed). Yes, this may mean at some point some people who want to raid are going to “ride the bench" some times.

Before I go into anything, I want everyone to realize that it is not my intention to single anyone out. I love this guild and like every one of our members. There are, however, some behaviors that I cannot ignore without speaking my mind. Thus, there are no names mentioned here with my constructive feedback on purpose, and I would like to keep it so.
Asking for a raid spot in this guild is like joining a softball/bowling league, card club, or charity organization. Along with membership comes regular meetings or game days where everyone gets together and participates. By joining, we make commitments and are expected to honor them by the other members or teammates; it should be no different here. If our team plays softball on Tuesdays & Thursdays from X-time to Y-time and gets together for practice on Saturdays too, we block out that time in our calendar making arrangements with our friends & families letting them know we are generally busy during these times as we have made prior commitments.
This doesn't mean we neglect or disenfranchise other people or commitments in our lives; we just devote other days & times to them.
I realize life happens, and I am not talking about needing to skip a raid to attend a funeral or take the significant other out for that anniversary dinner etc. We are all adults and everyone should see the points I am making here without taking anything personally.
Approaching our raids as optional lets down the team and hurts us all. Lately, it just seems so easy for our members to just bail early or blow off our schedule for anything else that comes up.
Being bored with old content or no longer needing drops form a zone shouldn’t be an excuse for not participating. If the zone/target is still on our hit list, then everyone should be there. After all, others were all there when each of us were getting what we needed too.
If you think the zone/target should not be on our list, make your case with lead

Would also be nice to know if people plan to abandon EQ or are they going to play both. Also, do they plan to continue raiding here.

Hey Marc, I am so sorry for your loss bro; life can be brutal at times. I am glad you are with us, and don't worry, our rogues aren't required to pull.
I don't think the Firefighter role came up when we were talking, but a relative of mine is the Fire Chief for the city of Detroit, MI.

Hey everyone,
Since this came up during our last few raids, I am glad we are having an open discussion on our forum to give us a place to share our thoughts, concerns, & feelings on the matter while keeping our focus on the raid while we are raiding.
I submit my comments here for everyone to consider and believe we need more time to discuss before we finalize any changes.
Since Dragon Kill Points (DKP) & Loot can be a source of conflict and drama for guilds, I would request that we avoid using specific names of players and keep our comments constructive in our posts. I recommend using the carpenter's rule as it applies to forum posts; measure twice & cut once, in other words, proof read yourself a few times before posting.
In the end, remember we all have the same goals: Have fun and kill bosses to get fat lewts (improve our gear) so we can progress through content together.
With that said, here are a couple of resources for those who may not have had a lot of prior experience with DKP:
-
- DKP Guild vs Loot Council Guild - which one you choose? - Article on WoW Head:
In my experience, there are 3 main approaches to DKP:
- 1. Silent Bid - Tends to be more casual friendly because no one, in theory, knows who has bid on an item nor the amount of DKP they are willing to spend giving all raiders a chance to bid what the item is worth to them. The winner's bid is deducted from his/her DKP balance.
- 2a. Open Bid - Tends to be casual friendly too and keeps the bids public so there is no question who bid what and who wins; however, letting your competition see what you bid allows them to outbid you as only one bid per player is allowed.
- 2b. Open Bid with Bid Wars - Tends to be less casual friendly allowing players to bid and bid again if they are outbid up to their max DKP (This is what we have been using).
- 3. Fixed DKP Price - Te

I am not sure if we have any items in the guild bank, or if any players have items they are willing to sell/part with. Some of our healers are actually wearing banded & bronze or worse in bracer/cloak/belt slots. Thanks for your consideration - Brutal

Greetings everyone, and thanks for having me!
Brutal or some variant is a name I have used across many games, MMOs, & platforms over the years dating back further than the Internet (yea i'm that old). Names have a huge significance for me, and I tend to do a lot of research and pick my names carefully.
That being said, here is some info about the name:
- Brutale (French) - Noun - brutale f (plural brutales), female equivalent of brutal.
HISTORY:
I started playing EQ back in 2000 during Kunark as a Ranger & then started 2 boxing a cleric until I was 4-5 boxing during Planes of Power. I raided as a main tank healer in EQ until I left the game in early 2004 during the Gates of Discord expansion after burnout from leading 2 guilds and raiding hardcore 5-6 days per week 5-7 hours per day.
I swore off gaming for a while not wanting to pay to play or give up too much real life, yet the bug bit me again. I went back to school to finish off some IT certifications when the teacher and his brother tapped me on the shoulder to join them in playing World of Warcraft beta. I tried to be more casual but ended up starting a new guild with friends on Aerie Peak the day it opened as the casual thing just wasn't enough. I played a Warrior main tank and guild leader hardcore until some time in 2009 half way through the Wrath of the Lich King expansion. At this time, I needed a break again. After being away, I logged back into WoW in 2011 during the Cataclysm era and played casually until early 2013 when I decided WoW wasn't my thing anymore.
Since then, I have dabbled in SWtoR, Rift, Neverwinter, Tanks, Guild Wars 2, and even some private WoW servers. After reconnecting with some old online friends doing the private WoW servers, we ended up here with the 20th anniversary release of Mangler.
I can be a bit of an alt-o-holic, so if anyone is leveling other characters hit me up, I can always use help leveli
