Contrary to popular belief, I am not Burta's alt. I do let him provide me with gear and plat though, as he enjoys plat farming and I can't stand doing it. So maybe I am? Hmm.

Anyway. My name is Andy. I have played Everquest off and on since the beginning.  About 20 years ago, I had a friend a few years older than me who called me up and convinced me to "come and check out this game, dude! It is going to change games forever!" That game was Everquest. It was the end of beta. I was playing a human ranger (I think?) and was dying to an orc. A paladin and a druid saved me, buffed me and warned me about the dangers of killing rats and orcs. I was hooked. 

From there I purchased my first PC, bought EQ, had a dedicated phone line installed to play and spent the next 5-6 years of my life ruining it [ ]. I started on Sol Ro and joined a casual guild. We later decided we wanted to be a raiding guild, so we merged with another and that was the foundation of the guild I would play with my entire EQ ''career'', with a brief stint in our server's uber guild, which I ultimately left because the people in my former guild were just. better. people.

Up until GoD (either that or after we cleared PoT, I switched to WoW), I did it all. Server firsts/seconds, every single raid, third place in the Paladin Best of the Best on Ayo Ro. I was a very hardcore raider. I am now pushing 40 with a family and am not interested in being a hardcore raider. I will raid, but ultimately, I am just looking to have some fun and play with friends.

In real life, I was an electrician for years until I had some life changing issues with some aneurysms and AVRs. Now I am a stay-at-home dad while the docs work on fixing my noggin' so I can get back to work.

Guess that sums it up. I look forward to annoying you guys by being under-leveled.

But seriously, way back when, we always went NBG DKP > main greed rolls > alt rolls (unless asked to bring alt specifically, i.e. lack of clerics or whatever, in which case they rolled as mains) > open rolls. 

As for main switches, there is no good way to handle it... case by case basis, I suppose. You should generally have a feel for how serious your members are about their character. Maybe limit switches per expansion? One main switch per expansion? I don't know, that isn't an easy one to handle.
